1. Откройте учебники на стр. 91. выполните упражнение 1. Вам нужно различить идиому от поговорки.

Что же такое идиома?  что такое поговорка?

idiom - a group of words in a fixed order that has a particular meaning that is different from the meanings of each word on its own:

Example: To "have bitten off more than you can chew" is an idiom that means you have tried to do something which is too difficult for you.

saying - a well-known wise statement that often has a meaning that is different from the simple meanings of the words it contains:

Example:As the saying goes, "Don't count your chickens before they're hatched."
